Text for Gill Sans poster:
Gill Sans is a typeface most commonly associated with the London Underground. This sans-serif typeface developed in 1926 by Sculptor and Typeface Designer, Eric Gill. It was originally created for Douglas Cleverdon, an English Radio Producer and the owner of a bookshop shop in Bristol, England. It was made for the front of his bookstore. Gill Sans became popular when it was commissioned to be used on the London and North-Eastern Railways in 1929. It was used as a unique typeface for all of their publicity material and their posters. Today, the typeface is more commonly known for being one of the available fonts for Mac Operating Systems. It is also the official typeface for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), the Spanish government, and is used for almost all of the advertising and marketing communications for Saab automobiles.
